Description
Spare ribs are cut from the bottom section of the ribs and breast bone, just behind the shoulder. There are usually 11-13 ribs containing meat on top of and between the bones.
They are flatter than the curved back ribs, and contain quit a bit of fat making them tenderer than Baby Back Ribs.
Cooking Tips
There are many different ways to cook spare ribs- from the crock-pot, to the oven, or even on the grill.
Put the ribs in a baking dish or crock pot, add 1 bottle of BBQ sauce. Cover the baking dish with foil, and put in a 275 degree oven for 3-4 hours, turning the ribs half way between cooking.
Stand the ribs up vertically and cut between the bones for little riblets.
